How We Lost 125,000 Followers and 6 Years of Hard Work

Hey DREAMERS,

I’m here to share a personal story that’s been weighing on me for the past few months. It’s not easy to talk about, but transparency has always been at the heart of DREAM. You’ve been with us through thick and thin, and now, more than ever, I need you to understand the battle we’re facing.

You’ve probably noticed something missing lately: our Instagram account @dreamclothinghq. The one we’ve built from the ground up over the past 6 years. Gone. Just like that. Over 125,000 followers. Thousands of posts, stories, memories, and data. Vanished overnight. And it’s all because we flew too close to the sun with a parody design.

Now, let me start by taking accountability. We created a parody tee that, in hindsight, maybe pushed some boundaries. I’ll admit it. We got a little cheeky, thinking, "Hey, it’s a fun tribute, no harm, no foul." But that was the exact opposite of how things played out. We know the rules are there for a reason, and we messed up. But what came next feels like a punishment that doesn’t fit the crime. I should have done a better job of approvals for that design. It was my mistake and I even took the design down the night before because it wasn't selling but it was too late, the damage was done. 

We didn’t just get slapped on the wrist. Our entire Instagram and Facebook pages were taken down. YEARS of building a community, connecting with all of you, donating to mental health causes, and sharing the DREAM journey…all wiped out in an instant. The hammer came down hard. The sick part of all this is how much I have loved football my entire life. 

We reached out to the NFL to explain ourselves. I, personally, have been a fan for 25+ years. Football is part of who I am, and it crushed me to think that one parody design could cost us everything. I was honest. I told them about our mental health support, the donations we’ve made, and how losing our platform would destroy a huge part of the brand. I thought maybe they’d understand. Maybe they’d show a little compassion for the small businesses out here trying to make a difference.

Their response? "Tough shit, talk to Meta. We can’t do anything."

Yup. Those exact words.

It was like a punch in the gut. To hear that from a company I’ve loved for so long made it all the more painful. But here’s the thing: even though we’ve been knocked down, we’re not staying down.

DREAM Clothing has always been about more than just an Instagram page. We’re about you. We’re about the stories, the struggles, and the support we give to each other. Our Instagram doesn’t define us. Yeah, it sucks. It sucks HARD. But that’s not the end of DREAM. We’ve been broken down before, and every single time, we rebuild stronger.

With all your support, your care, and your belief in this brand, we’ll get back to where we were. Actually, scratch that—we’ll go even further. Because DREAM is unstoppable. And as long as we’ve got this community, we’ll keep moving forward.
